Spring Flowers on The Peal Street Mall

Spring is a beautiful time in Boulder.  The flowers beds are blooming on the Pearl Street Mall in Downtown Boulder.  It is a wonderful time to get out and enjoy the outdoors.  What is blooming in your neighborhood?  If you have a good spring photo and would like to share it with the rest of it send it to me and I will publish it. My email is in the sidebar. Also, your comments are welcome.

South Boulder View of Flatirons

Marshall is a small community in Boulder that remains in name only. The residents have a Boulder address. But back a hundred years ago this was a bustling small coal mining community between Eldorado Canyon and Superior. Here is a view of the Flatirons from Marshall area. I took this from one of our listings at 1397 Cherryvale Road.

Winter Wonderland – Boulder Style

I was driving just south of Table Mesa today and had to pull over to capture this shot.  It was a beautiful, cold winter day and the Flatirons covered with snow created a perfect backdrop for Shanahan Ridge and the cows grazing in the meadow just west of Highway 93.

NCAR from Skunk Canyon

A chinook wind came through last night and melted most of the snow.  Today was a beautiful, warm winter day and I took the opportunity to take a quick hike.  The light was just beautiful coming off Kohler Mesa into Skunk Canyon.  It was great to be able to take advantage of one of the best reasons to live in Boulder; a refreshing January hike.

White Rocks Open Space

White Rocks Open Space

The weather is just getting good and right now is a wonderful time to take advantage of the panaloply of open space trail opportunities in Boulder County.  Last evening I took a mountain bike ride from my house in Gunbarrel along the East Boulder Trail, the Gunbarrel Farm and to Boulder Creek along the White Rocks Trail.  All of the above mentioned trails run into each other and provide a secluded area to walk, run, bike or ride a horse while surrounded by rolling rural hills.

The views are wonderful, especially when the countryside is a vibrant green.  For a link to a wide variety of trails in the Boulder County system click here.

October Snow

We had an big early snowfall this week.  Nearly 2 feet blanketed the area, knocking down tree limbs, closing schools and hastening the retreat of fall.  I say early because usually we get our first significant snowfall on halloween night.  I know because I have been in the trick-or-treat chaperone business for the past twelve years.  🙂
